This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students work hard and although many struggle, they are determined to succeed. Imagine having expectations from the city and state but without having the resources and tools to make them a reality? Ipads needed!

My students live in an urban, overpopulated school.

They have limited tools and resources available to access technology readily. Students have very little experience using technology and many do not have access to the internet, apps, or even computers at home. Ipads will provide students with all this and more! In the classroom, it is my mission to use the iPads in a research based manner. Many of my students speak a language other than English at home and many of students have learning disabilities that make the traditional classroom a difficult learning environment and require a more hands-on approach. Despite the challenges that they face, the students in my school are consistently eager to learn and enthusiastic about new and exciting learning opportunities.

My Project

My students respond very well to technology in the classroom, and when implemented appropriately and specifically to their needs it provides students will a wealth of knowledge and ability to check their work with the use of "a robot" so they are constantly self-checking themselves and accountable for their work. Students are expected to conduct research using technology. Providing books, simply isn't enough anymore, and relying on students' to conduct this research at home or in the library limits the majority of your class from being successful because they do not have these resources or means to access technology. By providing the majority of my students with an iPad, students will either be researching independently or collaborating with the teacher. This allows for successful research projects by providing unlimited resources for students and additional avenues for them to present their project.

Help make a difference in the lives of students who are so deserving of the tools that are necessary for them to be successful in our ever-growing technological world.

Impact students' ability to become knowledgable of tools that are helpful in their everyday lives.
