My Students

There is no sweeter sound than hearing your students say, "This is fun!" Fourth grade is an especially difficult year with subject matter. This school year I will work with fourth grade students and will be teaching all subjects.

I work in a rural school Title I school that serves students in grades 3-5.

Title I means that many of our students come from low income families. Our school and our community are very supportive of the education of our youth. It is not only our goal to make sure that students understand the subject matter, but to prepare them for a lifetime of learning and growing. We are "Anchored in Excellence."

My Project

One of my many goals this year is to get my students excited about reading. I want to begin the school year with a novel study of the best selling book, "Wonder." The topic is perfect for the fourth grade age group and I believe that it will both challenge and engage them. My other plan is to have a fun reading nook where the students want to relax and read - this area will include curtains, pillows, and of course books!

Your generous donation to our project will give students flexible seating options to enjoy while reading their favorite books.

It will also provide us with a set of the novel "Wonder" for us to use during our novel study.

Being able to provide them with these books and seating will make our classroom a comfortable environment for learning.
