Help me give my students book sets like Encyclopedia Brown and Cam Jansen to add a little mystery to their reading experience.

My Students

My students come from all backgrounds, and are in a high-poverty, rural school district. They have all different experiences and background knowledge. My students vary in their reading ability. We have implemented a reading workshop curriculum that promotes individual instruction. This requires a lot of books to give the students what they need.

Individual instruction is crucial to a student's understanding of reading.

My students are more engaged when they are learning with books they choose themselves. They have a better understanding of reading this way. Reading is very important to my students' life-long education. The foundation they receive in elementary school will set the stage for their reading education throughout life.

My Project

Having these books in my classroom will create a great environment for reading and talking about books with fellow students. They will allow my students to discuss books with partners and make predications and inferences in their reading.

A good book is key to helping a child engage in the best reading life they can have!

All of my students read books, but finding those books that will keep them engaged and wanting to read more is so important to their reading education.

These books are books that the students are asking for and love to read. They love sharing with fellow students the things that they have read and get excited to recommend their book to others! Creating this excitement is key to building a child's reading stamina, understanding of books, and to become a life long reader!
