My Students
My students go to school on the West-Side of Chicago. They come from low-income homes that want the best for their children but don't have the resources to assist in their education. Since funding is low in the schools, the students are at a disadvantage from other schools.
My students need to have technology to grow and develop in this society.
This is the era of technology and to not be able to have it at home or school puts them way behind. We need students to succeed and become the best they can be regardless of where they live or go to school. Every student should have technology in their school.
My Project
Can you imagine hearing kids say "It's My Turn, No It's My Turn on the iPad!" every day? Well, that's what I hear each and every day. My students love using the iPads so much that instead of going to other centers in the classroom that they rather go to the iPad center. My students need 2 iPads to further drive their education so that they can learn reading and math through interactive games. I want all of my students to be exposed using technology and experience the use of an iPad as well as have fun learning by using the literacy and math apps.
We only have 4 iPads, but all 20 of my students want to all go to that center.
All of my students became so interested in the iPads once they found out there were so many learning games on them that they can choose from. My students love getting on starfall.com which is a big hit in our classroom right now and they love all the different learning games they can play on that app on the iPad. Having 2 extra iPads will make the world of a difference for the simple fact that it will be easier during rotation time when more of my students will be able to use the iPads at once and it won't take such a long time for all my students to get a turn.
