My Students
The students we serve are sweet and loving little personalities, they come from low-income neighborhoods. Our focus is to get and keep them healthy while in our care and when at home. We cater to the children's nutritional health to help prevent health issues such as obesity, heart disease, high blood pressure, and type 2 diabetes. Healthy eating habits are more likely to stay with you if you learn them as a child.
My Project
A laptop was chosen to better serve our student's nutritional needs. Since the pandemic, a lot of our work has been done via computer and four ladies can't share one computer. The laptop will be used for things such as ordering food, tracking meal production and count, attendance, and ordering supplies. The laptop will make a big difference for us when completing documentation and sending out nutritional recipes and activities to our students and families. A balanced diet is a key to healthy eating habits because it provides children with the nutrients they need to grow. Such a diet should contain three daily meals and two healthy snacks with foods of the following food groups: protein, carbohydrates, fruits, vegetables, dairy foods, some fat, and sugar.
