My Students
My students are the definition of resilience and Houston Strong. The majority of my students are at-risk and economically disadvantaged youth, yet these labels do not stop my students from chasing and achieving their goals. Many of my students come from single-parent homes and will be the first in their family to receive a high school diploma. The students within my classroom can be productive and successful citizens of the United States with a little help and guidance.
My students are smart, intuitive, and very eager to learn in a variety of ways.
Our middle school is composed of students with a thirst for learning and eagerness to become productive citizens.
My Project
Help me give my students Positive Behavior In School (PBIS) Amazon Gift Cards to reward good attitudes, kindness, and classroom achievement. Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) help to establish incentives and opportunities that create a classroom environment focused on creativity, learning, kindness, and expression. Students in my classroom desperately need these kinds of things to motivate them in a post-COVID classroom.
Schools that have implemented school-wide Positive Behavior In School have reported improved school climate, improved student achievement, reduced suspension and referral rates, increased attendance, and increased family participation
