Student ownership is a large proponent of educational and social success. To that end, I work hard with students to own their neatness, work ethic, and even classroom management. Part of that classroom management is keeping it clean and organized.
Student leadership in class brought the idea of a clipboard storage system to avoid the mess in our 'clipboard corner'.
Their ideas should be supported, but finances are tight right now. While we're at it, let's just end the year strong with headphones for digital learning / independent online learning, and some snacks we really love!
Having given a presentation to our city council about a new skate park, and being invited to attend a council meeting, my class is excited to use their voice and make a difference. This is a small thing, but important to their values in our class. I'm impressed, and hoping to show them what happens when a community pulls together!
