My students are special because they are diverse learners who want to experience a fun and engaging education. They attend a community school where students live in close proximity. Our school is an early childhood center, located in an inner city neighborhood. We are a Title I school where students receive free and reduced lunches. Many students are new to the country and have to adapt to the English language and American culture. "Relationships cannot grow without the proper communication."
My Project
Everyday our students use dry erase boards during instruction. It allows the students to interact by writing their answers on the boards and hold them up when its time to share answers. Also, the science notebooks will help students prepare for their NYS science assessment. Our classroom is Super hero themed so the masks requested can be worn on the first day of school to create a fun classroom culture. The superhero hall passes will be used when students need to leave the classroom. The smile makers treasure chest will be used to reward students for positive behavior and participation during lessons.
