This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are creative and love hands-on learning! As a teacher, creating engaging lessons where students can work cooperatively together is the key to sparking the creativity of my 4th graders. Working with their peers enables students to solve real world problems.

Intermediate students are able to utilize a variety of materials to help them learn.

From technology to hands-on projects, my students are able to demonstrate their learning through different modalities.

My Project

Games provide an opportunity to teach a wide range of life skills that don’t necessarily show up in my curriculum’s scope and sequence. When students are allowed to play educational games, they learn a variety of important skills. They develop creativity, critical thinking skills, learn what good sportsmanship is, and the importance of teamwork.

I find that because students really enjoy playing games, it is a good way to focus their attention and actively immerse them in English.

Games provide an opportunity for hands-on, engaged learning. When students are interested in what they are learning, they are more likely to retain this knowledge.
