Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My classroom is open, but empty! I teach 8th grade ESL and English in a low-income urban middle school.
During nutrition and lunch, my students lack constructive ways to use their time. As far as game playing goes, many of them have only played video games. I long to give them the opportunity to play hands-on interactive games with their friends. I can offer a safe place on campus where students can come and develop their thinking and communication skills, while at the same time, having lots of fun!
I have two games right now, but many more students than that! I need a classroom full of games to offer to my kids to play. By having a variety of games, my students can have choices each day, as well as the chance to develop many different kinds of strategic thinking and communication skills.
Your donation will open my students to a world that few have had access before. You will make it possible for my students to have a safe place on campus to come and constructively use their down time engaging in fun activities. Less tagging, more playing!
