This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Outgoing, unique, and talented are just a few of the words that come to mind when describing my fourth graders. They love to read, they love to be silly, they tell terrible jokes, and they LOVE hands-on learning activities. They make me smile every day.

Our students have already faced more challenges than many of us will face in a lifetime.

There are students that have been displaced by hurricanes and tsunamis. There are students who have already moved multiple times or have been homeless in their short lives. 100% of our students qualify for and receive free breakfast and lunch. We have a high population of English language learners, many still in the early stages of acquiring English, and we have a significant number of neurodiverse students. Covid-19 has presented us with an unprecedented situation that none of us could have anticipated, and they are responding beautifully! Despite these challenges, our fourth graders come to school with smiles on their faces. I would love to provide them with an opportunity to not only be challenged, but to have fun doing it!

My Project

Snap Circuits is a wonderful tool to promote STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) learning. It's a safe, creative, and exciting way for students to learn about and explore electricity and how it works. Snap Circuits can be used over and over in a variety of ways to keep students engaged and challenged. They need to problem-solve and persevere to be successful as each project gets more complex. I would love to be able to offer my students the opportunity to utilize this awesome resource to enhance their learning and fun in the classroom this year!
