Help me give my students an electric string bass set to allow student starting on double string bass an easier time learning this wonderful instrument!
"Music can change the world because it can change people." - Bono. Music is not only an art, it is a way of living.
My students are always excited to come into class, no matter what type of day they are having.
With the stress of standardized testing, these students are resilient in being the best that they can be during their band class. Though we are far away from the urban area of our state, this does not stop me or my students from succeeding at our job: making music!
My Project
The double string bass is an instrument that not many students are interested in learning due to the sheer fact that it is the largest instrument in the orchestra. I found through conversations with colleagues that many of them start their string bass students on electric bass to allow them a more accessible way to play the instrument.
Learning the electric bass can be a fun way to learn the double string bass!
It allows the student to be seated while being able to see their hand positions in a more accommodating way. The learning experience that they have on electric bass will allow students to transfer their skills onto a double string bass, thus, allowing them to be versatile in two instruments, a rare commodity to have!
