This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

It's that time of year! My students have showed so much respect, independence, empathy, and responsibility. As we start off the New Year, I am so excited to surprise them with desk pets as rewards!

Each year my students LOVE the thrill of selecting a desk pet, and earning a (paper/felt) bed, (eraser) food, toys, and more for their tiny pets.

This group of students is especially delightful, and I just can't wait to bring more fun and more gratitude into our classroom!

This adventure also encourages personal growth, patience, and empathy. Students learn to celebrate others who earn a pet, practice patience and perseverance as they work to earn their own rewards, and care in taking care of their space and pet's space.
