My students need materials for mounting, preserving and laminating their work.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. CARMONA's classroom raised $280

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The children that I teach have physical and mental challenges. They are learning to write and their little hands are being trained to hold pencils and structure letters. Due to the fact that they have to repeat the work more than others do, we laminate the work so that they become "Dry Erase" sheets.
My "Thundercats" are amazing.
They are funny and charming and beautiful in my eyes. They are autistic, retarded, suffering from palsy, and in some cases, what some would call deformed. Sometimes other children stare or turn away from them because they shout out or look strange, but they are courageous to me. They face adversity that you and I will never know. We are in a school that has just been divided and if there was a lack of funding before trust me, we are down to a bare minimum now. We are in the heart of the ghetto and it is my intention that they get the best that I can offer them. These children of very special needs already have a few strikes against them; I intend to give them a fighting chance at life. The wheelchairs, the braces, helmets and walkers are enough of a barrier between them and the world. At least their work can be seen and tell their story for them.
My Project
I am requesting some mounting materials in order to display their work and instill a sense of pride in my children. The laminating sheets will eliminate the constant paper use and create "dry erase" worksheets. We are coming to the end of the school year and I want them to see their accomplishments proudly displayed in a hallway. We want to end this hard, hard year with an art exhibit and you can help us do that.
This end of year project is important because; The morale of the school is down, the economy is bad, people are facing tragedy all around us and we need to feel good about what we are doing and have done.
We will create binders and put our work up and just end the year with a bang. I hope you will help us do that.
