My students need the circle time learning center, all about today activity center, and all about letters pocket charts because it will allow for some routine and consistency in their day to day activities.

My Students
My students are one of the most interesting bunch of students you will ever meet. All of them display limited verbal skills to nonverbal skills. That being said as the staff we must get creative with our lessons and the students get creative with their behaviors and ways of communicating with us and each other. The students must be provided with much routine so they will be able to be clearly understood when asked questions. If we do the same morning routine each day, they will definitely be more comfortable with their learning process.
My Project
The materials will help with the students daily routine. It will provide a starting point for each day and allow the students to visually see the days, months, season, letter of the day. It also provides tactile cards (included with the circle time activity center) which are needed for the population of students I have. They are nonverbal and will need various ways of receiving the given message. The project includes a daily all about a certain letter, circle time activity center, lap desks, and all about today chart. The students will participate in a daily circle time activity to start their day and then move onto the letter chart with the use of the lap desks in order to try to write the letter with hand over hand assistance if needed. The pointers will allow the students to take turns and point to the answer when asked questions.
The all purpose teaching cart will allow us to be mobile with our different learning centers and not just stay stationary while also providing an organized stable place for our learning centers.
