It's All Fun and Games in Speech Therapy!

My Project

My students are a wide variety of ages and have a wide variety of interests. What unifies my students is that they all LOVE playing games and are incredibly motivated by playing with peers. I have a loved trying to create "game-like" activities for my students while continuing to keep the focus on furthering individual speech and language development.

These games have been specifically chosen as they allow for repeated practice for speech and language goals under the guise of "fun"!

Each student has an opportunity for many trials for speech sounds or language targets between turns or embedded within game play. This may look like articulation cards hidden under a fish, three sentences for practice before cracking the ice cubes, or producing synonyms before pressing down on the crocodile's tooth.

By having these games in my classroom, I will be able to focus more of my time on the content of the lesson rather than the way or means that I introduce the content to my students!
