"Music can change the world because it can change people." - Bono. Music is not only an art, it is a way of living.
My students are always excited to come into class, no matter what type of day they are having.
With the stress of standardized testing, these students are resilient in being the best that they can be during their band class. Though we are far away from the urban area of our state, this does not stop me or my students to be able to succeed at our job: making music!
My Project
The tuba is the most important instrument in the band! Without it, there are no low sounds, or known as bass to make the sound of the group sound better. Though the biggest and heaviest instrument, it is the most visual instrument that audience members get to see during any performance.
I have many students interested in learning to play tuba but unfortunately we do not have the funds to supply them with mouthpieces due to budget cuts.
I would hate to see students turn away from learning tuba because it is a vital instrument to have in our group. This year I have many eager students wanting to learn this important instrument and be that important member in our band to make our sound the best that it can be!
