It was bound to happen! After eight years and hundreds of prints, our old 3D printer that was donated to our class has stopped working. Even though the printer no longer works, my students are continuing to create CAD designs in both our CAD and robotics classes that we need to print.
This spring, my robotics class will be creating mini robots made from 3D printed parts and they will be using CAD and the printer to optimize and enhance the base design to compete in various challenges.
Our MSAT program gives students a chance to explore STEM in hands-on, applied classes and 3D printing has enhanced all of this.
