My Students
Our Players need official game equipment for golfing.
As a tenured coach, we would like our students to do their best and feel great in doing it.
We have many great students that are involved in a variety of sports. The involvement in sports definitely keeps some kids in school and helps others feel part of a group. Golf is one of those sports that can be a lifelong activity. Golf for some is an outlet for energy or anxiety due to other things going on. Golf has been known as a rich man's sport but it doesn't have to be.
A typical golfer in our school is a person learning the sport. I not saying we don't have good golfers but they start somewhere. To help give them that little jump on a tournament day having nice quality game balls really makes them feel worthy and great.
I feel all our students are equally important therefore I would like them all to have a chance to play the best they can.
My Project
All of our students that participate in golf love to compete. This competition on the course helps prepare them for life skills off the course. Many of our students are beginning golfers and are nervous and reserved to start with. The golf balls we are asking for support on are of high grade and quality. These are the balls that will be used in tournaments and competitive matches. Most 80% or so of our golfers are young and not accustomed to these golf balls. By using these golf balls the golfer could shave a couple of strokes off their scores. Could it be the actual performance of the ball? In most cases not. It would be in the built up confidence of the golfer because of equipment (golf balls)equal to those of others.
More often then not students who do well in the classroom are generally involved in sports.
In my classroom, I have noticed many of my better students are in extra curricular activities. Band and golf participants seem to be the majority of those that make up the higher performers in the class. I feel this small investment in the purchase of golf balls for competition is a worthy investment for these students both on the course and off.
The use of quality equipment is a great way to pump enthusiasm into a student's attitude and play. The purchase of quality golf balls ensures all of our students have a chance to use quality equipment. The pressure of losing a golf ball is enough of a loss for some to stay away from the sport and not want to continue. There are so many social skills these students could gain. Watching the face of a beginner golfer get handed a quality golf ball to use is unforgettable.
