My students need 25 subscriptions to Time for Kids to improve their nonfiction reading comprehension skills.

My Students

My students are growing up with such a negative image of the world around them. It is hard for them to see the good in the world and therefore their outlook on life and their hope for the future often seems so dismal. Time for Kids can help them see the world in a more positive light.

My students come from low-income families, often living with multiple-families in single family homes with limited resources.

Most live with only one parent who often works long hours and are enrolled in school themselves leaving little time to spend with them. Therefore they aren't given much of an opportunity to see the world outside of this community.

My Project

Sharing these magazines will help our children experience the world around them, its ups and downs. It will allow them to see the similarities and differences in the struggles and opportunities others face and help them see how to face challenges victoriously.

Every child needs to know they matter and they have the power within to make a positive contribution to our world.

They need to know that the world is bigger than they know and people face challenges and overcome obstacles each and everyday, to make not only their lives better, but also those lives of others around them.
