My Project

What I love most about my students is their curiosity, resilience, and eagerness to learn by doing. They ask big questions—about how plants grow, why crops fail, and how technology can make farming smarter and more sustainable. Many of them come from rural communities or agricultural backgrounds, and they’re deeply connected to the land. They want to understand it, protect it, and innovate within it. For many of my students, these microscopes will be the first time they’ve ever looked at a leaf’s cellular structure, discovered microbial life in the soil, or captured scientific images of what they observe. That’s not just learning—it’s liberation through education.

By bringing 1000X handheld digital microscopes into our agriculture and technology curriculum, students will gain access to the tools that scientists, agronomists, biologists, and environmental engineers use every day.

These microscopes aren’t just gadgets—they’re gateways to discovery. They’ll help my students see the unseen, ask deeper questions, and engage in scientific thinking in a way that’s personal, relevant, and empowering. Our classroom is a place where agriculture meets technology, and I strive to give students hands-on experiences that prepare them for real-world challenges. When we equip all students—not just those in well-funded schools—with tools like these, we’re saying that they deserve the same opportunities to question, explore, and change the world.
