Help me give my students a safe learning environment. Please. We need masks!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"I believe children are the future. Teach them well and let them lead the way." These are not only words from a popular song, but a strong belief that I hold as a teacher.
Equity for all!
My students are full of potential. They are bright shining beacons of light. I am asking for assistance so that they can glow like the stars that they are.
Fortunately, for the students in my class, envisioning the future is something we think of and talk about often. Because their daily existence is so challenging, I have them focus on their bright and delightful futures!
I teach in a low socio-economic area at a Title I school where ninety-nine percent of the population receives free breakfast and lunch at school. On most days, the hardiest and healthiest meals that the students receive are what they eat at school. It isn't unusual for the students in my class to stockpile food in their book bags to take home in order to have something to eat later that day.
Despite the harsh circumstances and backdrops of their lives, the students come to school daily with smiles on their faces.
My Project
My students are the most vulnerable population as they are not eligible to be vaccinated. The only protection they have, as 5 & 6 year olds, is to wear a mask.
These students live in one of the most highly exposed (Bronx, NY), area and are at risk every time they leave their home.
Having missed so many days of in-person learning, it would be such a shame if a child had to be quarantined for even one day this year!
Giving these youngster masks, is giving them a chance to breathe easy, literally. Please help, thank you.
