My Project

As the new school year begins, I am filled with excitement and hope as I prepare to welcome a new group of students into our classroom family. Each year brings fresh faces, new stories, and opportunities to grow together—and this year is no different.

To help ease the transition back to school, I am focused on creating a warm, inclusive environment where every child feels valued and seen.

The first few weeks can be especially challenging for many students, so I’m planning meaningful activities and literature that reflect the diverse backgrounds and experiences within our classroom.

One of my goals this year is to share books that promote understanding, empathy, and a sense of belonging.

As part of our early bonding activities, students will create personalized name keychains. This is more than just a craft—it’s a way for students to take pride in their names, their stories, and their identities. We’ll use this activity as a springboard for conversations about respect, individuality, and community.

Many of my students come from diverse backgrounds and face daily challenges meeting basic needs. To help them,I plan to provide snacks during the first few weeks of school. A small snack can make a big difference in focusing and feel cared for.

I’m committed to creating a space where they feel supported academically, emotionally, and socially. With a TPT gift card I will be purchasing beginning of the year inclusivity activities. This will allow the students to really get to know each other, our classroom and how we can work together to make this the best year!
