Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Every morning each student in my classroom starts the day by saying, "I can and I will!"

As an educator, there is nothing more exciting to me than seeing my students succeed.

I teach third grade at a title 1 school in a low socioeconomic area of Northern California where the majority of the students are English Language Learners. Although each of my students come to school with a different set of experiences they all have one thing in common they are expected to come to school ready to learn and by the end of the year master the third grade common core standards.

My Project

Today we live in a world that expects more from my students than ever before. The new Common Core Standards require students to use technology in their learning experiences. Living in a low socioeconomic community most of my students don't have access at home to technology such as iPads or computers. As a teacher I am committed to providing an excellent opportunity for all of my students to learn. My students need the extra support and interactive opportunities that iPads can provide them with to be encouraged and successful in all areas, especially math and science.

Having this project funded would not only allow my students to use iPads to access information on the web, use educational apps, but also video tape their learning experiences and share them with their classmates.

With iPads my students will be able to explore new technology and learn while doing so.
