Teaching in today's classroom requires technology.
I have a culturally diverse classroom of twenty-four creative, bright and energetic fifth grade students who are eager to learn through the use of technology. These kids are the future generation that is going to make a difference in our world - and technology is in their blood. Our Florida suburban elementary school thrives to be an innovator of classroom technology but unfortunately, that technology is in short supply. My students are excited and ready to let their ingenuity make a mark on this world - the possibilities are endless.
My Project
Students will use this iPad in virtually all aspects of learning throughout the entire course of the day and year. It will show them first hand how to access, research and gain important knowledge on an endless array of topics (computer coding, complex mathematical problems, science projects) as well as increase their ability to solve problems, think critically and collaborate and communicate these ideas with their peers - both on an individual and collaborative classroom level.
It is our job to make sure that our students are prepared for the future. Our students today thrive with learning activities that incorporate technology. Activities that involve technology also improve students' attitude, motivation and engagement. As a result, student achievement in all aspects of their learning is improved!
I want my students to be successful in a world in which technology has become more of a rule for success than a choice.
An iPad will help make learning fun - yet challenging - while teaching them valuable skills that will allow them to make a difference in this world! Today we have the world at our fingertips so why not provide our students the world through the use of technology?
