It Takes a Village Food Drive for Football

My students need daily meals that are beneficial to their development. These meals will be given to our young men on a need basis. Our young men need this daily nutrition to be able to develop.

My Students

Our high school is home to the best students in the Louisville. Our students are determined, gritty, hardworking, focused, and resilient. Our students are 90% free or reduced-price lunch and most travel more than 30 minutes to and from school. Our students have all overcome many adversities throughout their life and still choose to fight and improve their legacy.

Our young men on our football team have fought for social injustices and made a stand to improve their lives and all of those around them.

The character of our young men is impressive to be a part of as they grow into the leaders of tomorrow.

My Project

At our high school, we serve a population that is 90% free or reduced-price lunch. During the summer months, our young men travel from the west end of Louisville to participate in summer conditioning and practices.

These meals will help our young men reach their caloric intake to be able to reach their potential: physically and emotionally.

We did a study that showed our young men were only intaking 1500-2200 in calories, when their bodies are requiring 3500-4500 during summer workouts. All of this was slowing their development and was a result of a lack of resources available for them.
