This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Covid-19 pandemic has brought two years of disruption and uncertainty to our community. Students' regular routines were completely upended by the switch to remote schooling and many young people have struggled with their mental health. Now, we are grateful to be back in-person learning and supporting one another, but many students are struggling to get their attendance back on track.
This project will fund Amazon gift cards that will be used as rewards for an attendance incentive.
We know how much good attendance matters. It's an indicator of academic success as well as social-emotional health. We want our students to know that it matters when they are here! We will set a monthly attendance goal with students and use these gift cards to motivate them to improve their attendance and reach their goals.
