My Students
My students come from rural South Carolina and are not always given opportunities to learn and grow before they enter elementary school. My job as an interventionist is to work with children in small groups to help keep up with their regular classroom work and help close any gaps that may need filling in.
One of the main goals of my classroom is to give the students as many hands-on experiences as I possibly can, so they can have the same opportunities as other kids.
My Project
When looking at our data, Numbers and Operations is always our weakest area. This includes a lot of math fact fluency that students do not have. I have a few Wrap it Up key sets and need more to work with my small groups. I love that the wraps allow each student to work at their pace and on their operation that is needed. If I can help my small groups gain their fact fluency, then our test scores should improve dramatically! These individual items are also allow me to have the students do something hands-on even during our Covid protocols.
