I am moving to a school that technology is not being used school wide. I want to be able to open up the world of technology this year for my students.
I teach 4th grade inclusion, which mean 1/3 of my class is ESE.
These students are smart and can learn like any other child but they learn differently. I want my students to be excited about learning. I have learned from my many years of teaching that students learn best when they have hands on activities. I also believe we live in a technology filled world, unfortunately I am at a school which is not rich in technology. I would like to change this.
My Project
I need a tablet to enhance my teaching and a case to utilize plickers in the classroom. My students need a good dependable pencil sharpener. I am going to a new school for the 2015-2016 school year. The school I am going to does not have much technology so I want to be able to do what I can to change this. There is a free app called "Plickers". Students will be able to hold up "designs" that I have printed out to respond to questions. Then I will use the tablet I am requesting to scan the students' responses and those responses will be downloaded onto my tablet. I feel like this would be a start to implementing technology into my classroom.. I am also requesting a pencil sharpener for the simple fact that a good, dependable sharpener is essential in any classroom.
I believe technology is a part of our children's lives and rather than fighting it we need to embrace it.
Every student should have the same opportunities in the classroom. I hope to allow students to become excited about learning, especially those students who have never been excited to go to school in the past. With your donations I hope to make this possible.
