This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember when you were first learning to read? The feeling of success when you could start to identify familiar words as well as sound out words with the skills you were learning was priceless!
My students are first graders on general education campus in California.
My class includes a majority of students who are from low socioeconomic backgrounds. The children are all second language learners. They are hard workers and enjoy learning.
My Project
The language arts games will provide my students with excellent visuals and hands-on learning experiences that will help to increase their understanding of phonics. The decodable books will give them the opportunity to apply the decoding skills they are learning while raising their confidence and desire to read. The phonics skills games and chart will allow for interactive learning.
Without the ability to read, a person will have limited chances of succeeding in the world.
My students deserve the opportunity to learn to read and become successful lifetime learners!
