Determined...Dedicated...and oh-so-very deserving! This only begins to describe who my students are. Every day, they come to school wanting to learn and willing to try. They (and their families) put their trust in me to make learning meaningful, relevant, and engaging...to make it matter. And, how do we make reading matter?
It all starts with a good book.
This is exactly why I’ve chosen these books by award-winning authors, Katherine Applegate and Kate DiCamillo. Together, the students and I will use the multiple copies of books to read in small groups. We will learn to uncover who these characters are and how to read with a critical eye. As students' excitement over the stories grows, the individual books will be made available in our classroom library so that students can continue to grow their passion for reading!
