My Project
The students in our pre-k classroom range in age from 3 years to 5 years meaning that a majority of their lives up until now have been viewed through the lens of COVID-19 and the pandemic response. Most notably, it has affected the socio-emotional development of the keiki in our classroom which is why we would like to provide more opportunities for 'team sports' such as basketball to promote cooperation and sportsmanship. We would also like to expand our class library with books that teach us examples of kindness, friendship, and how to talk about our feelings that can be applied to our every day lives.
Pre-schoolers learn primarily through stories and play and thus we would like to incorporate these socio-emotional lessons in ways that will keep our keiki engaged while hopefully ensuring we help them succeed in the classroom and beyond.
