It All Started With a Desk Pet

Help me give my students fun and engaging erasers that can be used as a positive reinforcer for great behavior!

My Students

First grade, the grade with so many firsts! My students are so creative, expressive, and full of curiosity. For many of my students, this is their first experience at school, and they are so eager to learn, especially with hands-on and engaging projects that stimulate their love for knowledge.

My little first graders are a very diverse group of students coming from various backgrounds.

Backgrounds include many English Language Learning (ELL) students, low to high socioeconomic levels, and varying skills and needs. Although they may be so different in so many ways, they all have a passion for learning, growing, and succeeding.

My Project

A classroom should be a place full of positive interactions and building a classroom community. I want my students to feel happy, safe and look forward to coming to school ready to learn. Learning can be more meaningful in an engaging and uplifting environment. I believe by incorporating these erasers, students will be able to view them as desk pets. Students can earn these erasers for excellent behavior, hard work and grit. They will get to create habitats for their pets (erasers), use their creativity to write about journey's their pets (erasers) can go on, help teach responsibility and have a buddy with them throughout the day! These erasers will help build a positive environment for my students!
