This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school is filled with bright and talented individuals. It is a diverse and multi-cultural school that offers a bilingual program as well as being a silver medal STEAM school.
Our students are from a low socioeconomic area with many immigrants families.
We work tirelessly to not only ensure all our students learn and grow every day while creating a social culture that puts education first. We also create a positive atmosphere with a strong push towards project based learning that will lead to increased creativity and learning.
My Project
After visiting Legoland, I started thinking how the use of Legos could elicit creativity and imagination, could spark in language and writing skills, as well as bring science to life in kids. I've had a few students that have Legos bring them and have been amazed how it's helped them with the above mentioned.
These items will make a difference by adding individualized Lego boards that allow an individual student or small groups of students to create and invent story boards.
My class is very excited and hoping we get funded so the items requested can be part of our class full time.
These Lego Lap top boards can open the world of writing to reluctant writers and enhance the imagination and creativity in the proficient ones to help make their stories come to life through Legos.
