Bigger is better--that seems to be the consensus of young children. I teach fifteen fantastic Kindergarten students in suburban Maryland, and I can tell you, that all of them agree with that statement.

This is why I love using Big Books to teach my students, and as a tool in centers. Students love these books! When I read them to the whole class, they are large enough that all students can see the pictures and read the print. In centers, students can work together to re-read these books, and highlight the words that they know with highlighting tape. I only wish that I had more of these books to keep all of my students engaged!

I would love to be able to provide my students with more Big Books. The ones that I have selected span a wide range of topics and reading levels, ensuring that all students will be able to benefit from these books. I know my students would love to be able to have me read more Big Books to them more frequently, and to have more of these books in their center.
