Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Students need to know that their classroom is home away from home. I want them to feel comfortable coming into the classroom to learn and feel that a rug will welcome them into the class so they can freely curl up with a good book and have a friend sit comfortably next to him/her.
These students are economically challenged and live in a challenging neighborhood.
They knowingly come to a school that is a safe, comforting, nurturing and caring environment. The teachers and staff arrive everyday to encourage and develop their young minds so that they will become independent, contributing, and productive citizens in their community.
My Project
My students need to feel the partition will help them focus on the questions asked and that outside influences will not encourage them to change their answers. The media cart will give students the opportunity to participate actively in class and have materials within teacher's grasp. The rug encourages social interaction among the students. Many times they do not have many opportunities for social interaction except at school.
Without the proper tools (the partitions, carpet, and mobile media cart), teaching will be more challenging and creative.
These items will make teaching the students much easier and a joy.
