My students need 2 iPads and iPad covers. Many of them have autism spectrum disorders and the tools available through iPad apps can greatly help them in the classroom.

My Students
Imagine at 5 years old not being able to communicate your challenges to your teacher because you hadn't developed the language skills to explain your thoughts.
Many of our kindergarten students in our co-taught inclusion classroom have autism and face just this challenge.
They learn best using clear visuals and love technology. Due to budget cuts in our urban school, many our students do not have access to the technology tools that have been found to have positive results in their learning and communication skills.
My Project
iPads provide the visual stimulation and tools that research has shown to be effective with students on the spectrum. iPads can be used to provide a visual schedule of the day or visual steps of the learning activity. There are many apps that can help students understand social situations that may be confusing. iPads also provide a motivational reward system for completing challenging tasks.
Receiving two iPads will help our students grow and learn as students as well as develop communication skills to meet their needs.
