My Students
Every day my students come in to my classroom eager and ready to learn. I have 24 busy little bodies who are all at different levels. Through technology, I would like to promote and support my students in language arts and math.
Our school is very diverse.
We have students from different cultural backgrounds, different learning levels, and different learning styles. My students are very hard-working, but in this technology driven world, I want to give my students different opportunities to access content like language arts and math, not just with textbooks and paper.
My Project
My students will use these iPads during workshop time in reading and math daily. They will also use them for AR test and rewards for positive behavior. This past year, I downloaded quite a few great language arts and math games to an iPad provided to our grade level through our school. I do have a student who is working at a beginning first grade level. Because he is not able to do some of the second grade work, the phonics and sight word games have been very helpful for him. I want to be able to enrich my advanced learners, give extra support to my below-basic students, and extra practice to my on-grade level students through technology.
Having iPads in my classroom will promote my students' learning.
My students will be able to read books online or practice language arts and math skills. They will also be able to take AR tests on the iPads. Between our 5- first grade classes and 5- second grade classes, we have two shared computers which do not always function properly. Having iPads in my classroom will help with having to wait our turn to use the hallway computers for AR testing or using online programs to support their learning.
