My Students

Our High School has a fabulous Allied Health magnet program offering coursework and on-the-job experience in a variety of fields. Many students earn professional certifications such as for EKG, ultrasound, and MNA before even graduating high school. Our students are already ahead of the game!

Our Allied Health students in HOSA would like to compete in this year's reading competition.

There are five books that they need to read to compete. I have requested two copies of each title so that they can read together and then rotate the books to other pairs of students. How great that they are looking to further their knowledge for their future! Beyond the competition, these books provide important information for our students' future in Allied Health positions. And with over 75% of our population being labeled "At Risk", an education such as this can really make a difference in their lives!

My Project

Beyond the competition, these books will help further their knowledge in the field of Allied Health. These books cover health care issues, risks of radiation, effective leadership, veterinary dentistry, and dignified care of the elderly. By reading these books, not only will they excel in the HOSA reading competition, they will get a well rounded and professional view of the field they are entering. Isn't that the kind of health care worker you would want to help you?

By donating to this project, you are preparing the youth of today to have a well rounded and informed background in the issues of Allied Health.

In turn, this will ultimately lead to more educated health care providers in the future, as well as a trophy for our school for winning the HOSA reading competition! Thanks so much for your assistance!
