I work in a very small, rural school system with a rapidly growing immigrant population in south Georgia.
I am the sole ELL teacher of our English Language Learners in all grades of our small school system.
My English Language Learners love using iPads to help with their English skills! Even though my students come from all around the world, and are mostly from Mexico and Guatemala, they quickly become computer literate while making great strides learning English. Being the sole ELL teacher, the iPad is the perfect teaching tool for my English Language Learners. My sweet students always want to know, "When is it my turn to use the iPad?"
My Project
Many of my students come from homes where English is not spoken and thus can't get the necessary help that they need for reinforcement of the academic work that is done at school. IPads provide a simple, portable solution for our English Language Learners through the use of easily usable apps and programs.
Your donation will help my English Language Learners have access to technology that will help them learn English.
Our growing population has given me impetus to search for ways to meet the needs of my English Language Learners. Your donation will give me the ability to say to my English Language Learner, "It's your turn!"
