Help me give my students technology to continue participating in remote learning. The iPad will be loaned to the students on a rotating schedule and meant for students who have limited access to technology, or share technology.
My classroom is full of inquisitive 6 and 7 year olds who love learning and coming to school. The kiddos came to school every day full of bright smiles, and ready to learn. Right now, these smiling faces great me from a computer screen while we are learning virtually.
For our young students - especially our English Language Learners, losing daily personal interactions with friends and teachers has been difficult.
Kiddos miss their friends, interactive learning is made more difficult for kids who have limited access to technology, and families are greatly impacted. Right now, we are doing a combination of online learning and having kids print out materials. I've personally dropped off materials to students as well.
My Project
This iPad will be loaned to students who have limited access to technology, share technology, or if something changes in their family's circumstances. After remote learning, this iPad will be used in our classroom to support students' learning (i.e. recording their own reading, completing visual art projects, independent tasks).
This iPad will be instrumental in allowing a student to complete online tasks efficiently, while being mindful of the environment, and join their classmates on virtual meetings.
Students will be able to complete their assignments by directly 'writing' on the iPad - something that is difficult for littles to do using a computer mouse.
