Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

What a wonderful bunch! These students are energetic, lovable, enthusiastic and inquisitive. The energy my students exert every day in the classroom is worth bottling and spreading it over all the world. They make me want to come every day to work and they fill me with the optimism that, that day (like most) will be a successful one. Their attention to every detail I wear every day and their continued reinforcing of how beautiful I look, is priceless. My students' hugs and letters of love prompt in my room so much desire to be there every day that sometime I don't want the day to end.

This rambunctious second grade class, is fighting the odds.

Our school is situated in the mist of a challenging community. The neighborhood is affected largely by violence, drug abuse and opposition to the empowerment of our children, youth and the family structure. My students exhibit a sense of security and delight in learning. They are prideful in the assurance of knowing that knowledge is power! In turn I have witnessed my students use the power of knowledge to impact those around them in a positive way.

My Project

The digital era... What a time to be alive. Receiving an education today means lost and lots of media driven information. This new, brighter approach to education promotes and stimulates significant about of learning as well as challenges. My students have enormous about of digital resources at their figure tips but can not access much of it.

Having adequate access to technology means; laying the playing field for all my students.

What good is that a school district budgets large amounts of money to keep our students up with the 21st century through digital software, apps, infrastructure, etc. and that a finically deprived class like mine can not access it with the fidelity it needs to be used with. Having these extra computers will close that gap just a little more. It will make technology use in my room that much more accessible and available.
