I am a public school teacher, teaching 4th grade at a Title I school in the Midwest.

Children are hooked on electronics these days but they constantly struggle with reading. In a large classroom they need to be able to hear readings by a fluent reader and be able to follow along independently.

I would like to be able to provide for those who are struggling, the recordings of stories, poems or narratives that they can follow along with in their text. They need to be able to hear text being read fluently, to serve as a model for their own reading. Not all the students need this special help but those who do, spending an extra 10 minutes a day, would enable them to obtain better fluency and comprehension in reading.

The ability to read is a gift I would like to give to all students, especially those who lack the support they need.
