This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
As our class pushes into the digital age we are doing it with one device at a time. The students are engaged and motivated with any interactions involving technology.
In second grade students are learning many skills across content areas.
I do not see technology replacing the hands-on learning they need but rather enhancing our lessons. I continue to discover apps. and video pieces the students would love for science, math, and reading.
My Project
What better way to do this than with a handheld device in the right size like a mini iPad. I am hoping to bring in two to our class to ignite and inspire many of our lessons in an immediate way. Whether we are looking at interactive maps for social studies or singing place value songs for math, I see multiple and varied experiences within our reach with these resources.
We are in an urban district outside of Los Angeles that needs the support as funds are continually restricted.
These iPads with the cases could last multiple years and impact students' lives. They are interested in the world around them and I am excited to bring such a versatile resource to their fingertips.
