This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"I can be a better reader with an iPad." Make Kindergarten students' learning fun.
I teach at a wonderful, multi-cultural, public school located in the San Fernando Valley.
We are a Title One school, and many of my students come from economically disadvantaged homes. My class includes students that are both English and non-English speakers, as well as students with disabilities. All of my students enjoy working on the computer and listening to stories.
My Project
The iPad2 is a perfect tool for kindergarten students to access the technology in the classroom. Most of the students have a hard time clicking the mouse. Their little hands don't caress the mouse to move from side to side. At age four and five, they have a hard time figuring out which is the right or left. With a handheld iPad, students can move the screen by a touch of their finger. Students also have the opportunity to listen to many leveled reading books online as well as many free educational games that will enhance our kindergarten math program. A portable screen will allow students to carry it to their desks to use.
By funding this proposal, you will be giving my students a computer that will bring magic in learning.
