Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Technology in the classroom is something that can change students' lives. I teach in a Kindergarten classroom and have some students that have an IEP. They learn best through active engagement and using technology. By having more technology available, I will be able to better meet each child's needs.

The students in my class are very diverse in ethnicity, social class, and needs.

The classroom is like a home in that all the students know each other and are a support system. The majority of the students have come to Kindergarten together from Prekindergarten and they have known each other.

My Project

In today's classroom, technology can have a huge role in how a student learns. The more visual aids and hands-on activities we have, the more able we are to reach all of our students. iPads now have many different apps that could be used in the classroom to help students develop and learn a concept. Having this technology would really benefit those students who may not be as advanced as the other students in the classroom. Technology gets students excited as well as engaged in the activity at hand. It also helps students on their responsibility because they have to take care of the iPad and show they can use it properly.

This iPad will mean so much to the students.

It will give them a chance to see how technology works in the classroom and it will show them how learning can be fun. The students will be more engaged in what they are learning and it will help out the students who learn best by having tactile/hands-on activities in the classroom.
