Do you ever feel lost with our changing technology? Anyone who has background knowledge in our techno world truly understands the importance of being exposed to technology. The more we know...the better advantage we have.
I have awesome third grade students who need the world opened to them.
They come from low SES backgrounds, broken homes, many of them have parents who are working 2-3 jobs, have fathers in jail/prison, or their grandparents have custody of them.
My students are eager and motivated to learn, but do not have resources at home to give them an idea of what our world is like. They need exposure to good materials. They are our future.
My Project
Schools are becoming outdated as technology is increasing. Students love things that are electronic. With iPods in our classroom, teaching can be greatly enhanced as we use apps to learn math, reading, science, and music. It is also a great motivator and excellent for reward activities.
An iPod touch will broaden my students' knowledge, give them experiences that are more real, and keep them closer to understanding technology.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
