This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember what it was like to be in First Grade? You probably remember a lot of paper and pencil tasks. Well, First Grade is different now! Our society is rapidly changing, so the way we teach our children must change as well. Technology is everywhere, why not use it to help students learn?
This year I have 22 bright and energetic students who are excited about learning.
We are located in a rural town in East Texas where most families are just trying to provide their child's basic needs. Most of the children in my room are on free or reduced lunch this year.
My Project
My students need an IPod Touch, headphones and cd player with a dock for the IPod. With this Ipod Touch, my students will be able to use education applications that will help them to learn phonics, math, and increase their vocabulary. They will also be able to read books on the Ipod Touch and take AR test on them, record videos, and take pictures. The learning possibilities are endless!
This project is so important because it will help my students become more successful to function in the real technology world where many people use Ipods, Ipods, laptops, etc.
They will also be able to explore their interests more easily with access to the web!
