iPads to the Rescue for STEM Enrichment Activities!
My students need two Apple iPad minis, a case, a keyboard case, and screen protectors so students can do independent work while I work with small groups.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
How do you create enrichment STEM lessons for high performing students when working in small groups with low performing students who need additional help? Both sets of students need additional attention, but I can only work with one group at a time. So iPads to the rescue!
My students go to a public elementary school in Miami, Florida.
We are a Title 1 school, as a majority of the students are on free or reduced price lunch. A large population of our students are ESOL 1 so they are non- English or limited English speakers. Although our school is predominately Hispanic, we do have students from many non-Hispanic countries. All of them are, however, very eager to learn and explore the scientific world.
My Project
During my Science class, I have to work with students who are struggling with a concept and need additional help. At the same time, I have gifted students who finish early and need enrichment time. It is very hard to work with both groups so the iPads will help. The students can upload various Science web-based programs that will enable them to complete Science projects and experiments online. They can research, investigate, and create science projects on their own. The students can use these tablets in small group instruction or individually. When I am working with one group, the group working with the ipads will have enrichment lessons that will propel them to the next level
With these iPads, both low achieving and high achieving students can work independently to help them reach their Scientific potential.
It gives every student in my class the opportunity to do better. Whether they are doing online experiments or watching a science video in Spanish or Creole, all students will learn. These iPads can bridge the gap between the levels. Whatever level the student is in, all my students are hungry for more science and have expressed their desires to learn more.
