My classroom buzzes with energy and excitement about learning! I must keep them constantly engaged. I seek to create a strong foundation of skills that can carry them through their school careers and into their chosen profession.
My students are twenty charming and animated pre-kindergartners from south Louisiana.
They come from a background of farmers and oilfield workers. Many of them lack access to technology in the home which motivates us to provide these tools for our students even more.
They are funny, dedicated, brilliant, kind, persistent, inquiring minds who rise to any challenge presented to them. My students are three and four year olds who need engaging academic exposures in order to help solidify the content they are learning.
We learn together in a small Pk-8 school that does the best it can for our population. Our students need differentiation and enthralling learning experiences. Our school is a family of teachers, support staff and learners that truly care about one another and work together to deliver the best for each and every student.
My Project
I seek to give my students relevant experiences. I want each student to know their potential, embrace their gifts, and know how to apply is all in the real world. With the addition of iPads in the classroom, students' educational experience can be better individualized. My students will be able to access apps that reinforce skills and provide higher level learning. iPads help kinesthetic and visual learners stayed engaged and enjoy learning in their own style.
I'm excited to implement the use of apps that teach graphic design, program design, and engineering! What a way to build twenty first century skills.
My scholars will also be able to use iPads in centers such as writing and reading. They'll learn phonemic awareness and mathematics. They'll receive the modifications needed for their best learning experience. They'll create independently and cooperatively to show their understanding of concepts.
iPads should be present in every classroom.
Scholars cannot practice or learn 21st century skills without access to this kind of technology. I cannot allow them to be held back because of a lack of funding. They deserve to explore and learn at much higher levels than are possible with the current funding.
The addition of iPads would be greatly beneficial to our classroom. Scholars will have the opportunity to learn through technology daily. We are so grateful for your interest in our development!
